Bachelors Courses

Masters Courses

The University of Calgary provides a number of Master of Science Degrees, majoring in fields like Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering. There are also specialisations for a Master’s in Medical Sciences, as well as in Law, Psychology and Architecture.  The acceptance rate for graduate courses at the University of Calgary is relatively higher. On average, the acceptance rate for Master’s Courses is around 63%. 

MBA

Like the master’s programmes, the acceptance rate for an MBA at the University of Calgary is around 60%. Calgary provides two types of MBA Programmes – a Daytime MBA and an Evening MBA. Their programme was ranked #4 in the world on the Global Green MBA in Corporate Knights (2013).

General Admission Requirements

The basic admission requirements for all undergraduate programs include:

  • For a UG program, a cumulative grade point average of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale or equivalent (i.e. 80%) in the respective subject.
  • A 4-year Bachelor’s Degree in the Eligible Fields with a First Class Division (60-100%).
  • Transcripts or Marksheet of your previous degree or diploma
  • GMAT or GRE Scores for MBA and Masters programs in Canada.
  • Statement of Purpose (SOP) & Letters of Recommendation (LOR).
  • Acceptable English proficiency tests: IELTS, C1 Advanced, TOEFL.
  • If you are applying for a French-taught program, you need to submit French Proficiency Tests Like TCF, TEF, DELF, and DALF.
  • Proof that you have sufficient funds to study in Canada.
  • An updated CV (if required)
  • If you are applying for a Master’s in Canada or PhD program, you might need to provide two letters of academic reference with previous letters of employment. And if you haven’t studied in Canada before, you will also need an ECA (Educational Credential Assessment).

SAT And ACT Requirements

The Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) or American College Test (ACT) are not required for admission; however, a student may choose to submit test results as part of a diverse qualification application. If you choose to do so, a minimum score of 1100 is required in the SAT Reasoning Test with no mark below 400 to be presented in the Math Component and one of the Critical Reading or Writing components. A minimum composite score of 24 is required if presenting an ACT Test.
