What is MD Homeopathy?

A doctorate of medicine in homoeopathy is a three-year course in homoeopathy intended at providing an in-service experience to its students rather than a theoretical approach, the course looks at the treatment of various ailments through the method of homoeopathy. Students of MD Homeopathy are also expected to write a thesis at the end of their course leading to new developments and research in the field of Homeopathy.

The course is designed to emphasise in-service training over lectures and includes elements such as conferences, GDs, seminars, clinical meetings, and journal clubs, as well as the submission of a written thesis or dissertation with detailed commentary on the area of specialisation.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must have earned the BHMS (Direct or Graded) degree or an equivalent degree as determined by the Central Council of Homoeopathy.

  • Those who completed the required internship on or before the application deadline alone are eligible for admission.
  • Applicants must have a B.H.M.S degree with a minimum aggregate score of 60% from a university recognised by the Medical Council of India.

Admission Process

To be admitted to the course, eligible candidates must pass a relevant entrance exam administered by universities at both the state and national levels.

  • Candidates must achieve the minimum cut-off marks set by the university, based on which a merit list is created and seats are assigned.
  • Admission to postgraduate courses will be based on the AIAPGET exam rank list.
  • Candidates’ merit and category lists will be prepared by the entrance examination commissioner based on their NEET Examination rank.
  • They were also in charge of all MD(Hom) admissions in two government hospitals.
