INET COVID-19 Update
The current pandemic situation in India is getting worse as the number of cases increasing every day is exceeding the cases of the previous date. Considering the situation the official authority of INET has cancelled the June session of INET 2021. The admission will be done through SSB interview & medical test only.
What is INET?
INET stands for Indian Navy Entrance Test. INET is a National Level Entrance Examination used to recruit personnel for the Indian Navy. The Indian Naval Academy is in charge of it. The INET test is comparable to the AFCAT exam, which is used to recruit officers for the Indian Air Force. The main distinction is that the INET test is used to select individuals for the Indian Navy. INET has a number of open positions for various positions. Unmarried male and female applicants are eligible to take this exam. The test will be administered online (computer-based) and will consist of multiple-choice, objective-type questions.

INET 2023 Important Dates (January Session)
On November 1, 2021, the INET 2021 application form for the January session was available. Though the official dates for the year 2023 have not yet been announced, the following are the tentative dates:

Note: Considering the COVID-19 situation in India, the official authority of INET has cancelled the June session of INET 2021. The admission will be done through SSB interview & medical test only.
INET Selection Process
- INET Registration – The application form is released on the official website. You have to pay the application fee and register yourself for the INET exam.
- Shortlisting Applicants – The candidates are shortlisted and if they meet the eligibility criteria only then the application can proceed to the next stage.
- SSB Interview – SSB interview consists of two stages. Stage 1 includes Officer Intelligence Rating tests and Picture Perception & Description Test. Stage 2 consists of Psychology Tests, Group Testing Officer Tasks, and interview rounds. Candidates can only stage 2 after they have cleared stage 1.
- Medical Test – After clearing the SSB interview the selected candidates are required to clear the medical round. Only the medically fit candidates can proceed further. There is no relaxation for anyone.
- Merit List – The merit list is released based on the SSB interview and medical round. The selected candidates also receive appointment letters.
Application Form
Applicants can apply for INET (Indian Navy Entrance Test) through the online mode from the official website. Here is the step-wise process to fill INET application:
- Visit the official website of INET.
- Click on the “Apply Online” tab & you will be redirected to another page.
- Create a new account & log in with the details sent on your registered email id to start filling the INET application form.
- Fill in your personal & academic details.
- Upload the necessary documents (Signature & photograph)
- Pay the application fee & take two printouts of the application form for future reference.
Application Fee
To complete the application process of INET all applicants to pay the application fee. Application Fee can be paid through Debit/Credit card or internet banking. The application fee amount for the general & OBC category is Rs. 215/- & for SC/ST/Female candidates don’t have to pay any application fee.

Before applying for INET you should check if you are eligible for the exam. INET eligibility criteria depend on the post you are applying for:

Exam Pattern
Before appearing for an exam, applicants must know about the exam pattern. Knowing the exam pattern beforehand helps students in preparing, planning & can also develop an exam strategy accordingly. There is a total of 4 sections in the INET exam & each section has 25 questions. The weightage of each section is 100 marks. Here is the exam pattern of INET:

All the candidates have to be medically fit to be a part of the Indian navy. There is no relaxation in this. However, the relaxation is given to candidates holding domicile in height and weight.
Admit Card
The INET admit Card is released a few weeks before the date of examination. Without the admit card, no student will be allowed to enter the INET examination centre. Check the details on your admit card, if there is any incorrect information raise a ticket to the concerned department. Also, carry a valid identification card on the day of the exam along with an INET admit card. Here are the steps to download the INET Admit card:
- Visit the official website of INET.
- Click on admit card link/notification.
- You will be redirected to another page & you can log in with your username & password.
- Download the admit card displayed on your screen & take two printouts.
Examination Centre
The INET Centres are available to applicants who submit their applications by the due date. They can choose the centre as per their preference and availability of the centre. Your letters cum Admit cards have the details of your location of exam, time and date. Once you have opted for the centre, it will not be changed in any condition.
INET 2023 Cut-offs
After the exam, the predicted cut-off will be updated. The expected cut-off is calculated by taking into account a variety of criteria such as the difficulty level of the exam, the number of candidates, and the number of openings.

INET 2023 Result and Merit List
The applicant must get the minimum qualifying marks in each section in order to be qualified for the final merit in the INET test. After the results are announced, candidates can verify them by following the procedures below:
- Visit the Indian Navy’s official webpage.
- Click the ‘Login’ button in the upper right corner.
- Log in with your registered email address and password.
- Click on the ‘View Result for INET Officer’ button.
- The outcome will be shown on the system and may be downloaded by clicking the ‘Download’ button.

The vacancy list is announced by the official authority of INET every year. The INET 2021 vacancies have not been released yet.
