The full form of LLM is Legum Magister. It is the Latin name for Master of Laws, which is an advanced postgraduate degree in Law. Simply put, the Master of Laws is also called LLM. Students who have obtained an LLB degree from a recognised university can pursue LLM. Master of Laws or LLM is usually for those who are already pursuing legal practice and have graduated with an undergraduate academic law degree. LLM course lasts for a year, in most cases. Duration of LLM

Eligibility Criteria for LLM

Educational requirements – The candidate must have a three-year or five-year LLB degree from a recognized university.

Candidates in their last year/semester of graduation are also eligible to participate in the LLM admissions process. They must, however, have achieved the qualification by the time they reach the final step of the admission procedure.

Minimal qualifying marks – The criteria for minimal qualifying marks in the qualifying examination differ by college. In the case of NLUs, general category candidates must have at least 50% aggregate marks. SC and ST applicants must have an aggregate score of at least 45%.
