About BSc Chemistry

Mainly offered as a 3-year degree program, BSc Chemistry Hons covers the fundamentals of Chemical Sciences and imparts students with the knowledge of the behaviour, composition, structure, and properties of the various elements of matter around us. BSc Chemistry Honours Admission Process

Admission into BSc Chemistry or BSc Honors in Chemistry is based on two ways:

  • Merit-Based Admission: In this method of admission, universities and colleges compile a merit list for their course, and the merit list is based on the students’ 12th grade. Interested candidates must meet the institutions’ cut-off marks to get admission to this course.
  • Entrance Based Admission: The second method of admission for BSc Chemistry is through an entrance exam. Some colleges grant admission based on the results of the entrance exam. Eligibility Criteria

Although the eligibility criteria for Bsc Chemistry Hons will vary from university to university, here is a general eligibility criteria that have been compiled for the aspirants to have a brief idea: 

  • As previously stated, admission to this course is either by entrance tests administered by universities or through a merit list established by the institution based on the candidates’ 12th grades.
  • The candidate must be passed out from 10+2 from a recognized board.
  • The applicant must have completed their senior secondary education, i.e. 10+2 with MPC Subjects or BiPC Subjects. 
  • The candidate should be having aggregate marks of 50%-55% in class 12 exams.
  • If planning to study BSc Chemistry Hons, then most of the universities also need applicants to qualify for English language proficiency tests like IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, etc. 
  • Well-written Letters of Recommendation (LOR) and a Statement of Purpose (SOP).
