Mass Communication Courses Eligibility Criteria

Students who want to pursue a career in mass communication or journalism must meet specific eligibility standards. For choosing students, each college (in India and abroad) has its own set of eligibility requirements as per different courses and university types. Candidates must meet the eligibility requirement in order to be admitted to the college or university of their choosing. Some of the basic eligibility criteria that are required for pursuing a course in mass communication or journalism are mentioned below: 

  • To pursue any journalism and mass communication course diploma degree, you must first complete your education up to class 12 from a recognized board of education in any stream of study.
  • To be eligible for undergraduate degree programs, you must have a grade point average of 45% to 55% in class 12th.
  • A post-graduate degree or a PG diploma program, on the other hand, requires you to have a graduation degree or a certificate with at least 50% marks.
  • If planning to pursue mass communication from abroad, then students are required to have a competitive score in competitive tests like IELTS/TOEFL/PTE, and GRE.
