LLM Entrance Exam: Common-Law Admission Test (CLAT)

CLAT 2023 is a national-level entrance exam that is conducted to secure admission into the 22 NLU’s. CLAT 2023 is conducted by NLU Odisha and the exam is going to be conducted in an online mode. It is important to note that many of the self-financing colleges also consider CLAT scores while offering admissions into their colleges. 

Eligibility 

  • The minimum eligibility criteria for CLAT PG is that students belonging to have to score an aggregate of 55% marks in their LLB.
  • Students belonging to SC/ST have to score a minimum of 50% in their bachelor’s course.
  • There is no upper age limit for students to appear for CLAT PG.

The CLAT 2023 exam for the same was held on December 18, 2022.

LLM Entrance Exam: Law School Admission Test (LSAT India)

Eligibility 

  • students belonging to have to score an aggregate of 55% marks in their LLB.
  • Students belonging to SC/ST have to score a minimum of 50% in their bachelor’s course.
  • Students should have completed their LLB from an institution recognized by the bar council of India.

LLM Entrance Exam: Delhi University LLM Entrance Test (DU LLM)

Conducted by the University of Delhi, the Delhi University entrance exam helps secure admission for LLM. The test is conducted by the National Testing Academy on behalf of DU. through this students can secure admission into various postgraduate, undergraduate, and doctoral courses related to law.

Eligibility

  • Students who have completed the ⅗-year bachelor’s course should have scored an average of 50% for the general category.
  • Students belonging to the OBC category must score 45% 
  • Students belonging to the SC/ST category must obtain a minimum of 40%.

The registrations for this year have closed and the exam is likely to be held in the 1st week of June.

LLM Entrance Exam: All India Law Entrance Test (AILET)

Conducted by NLU Delhi, AILET is a university-level exam for securing admission into NLU Delhi for the LLM program. Annually over 20,000 students apply for this exam.

Eligibility

  • Students belonging to have to score an aggregate of 55% marks in their LLB.
  • Students belonging to SC/ST have to score a minimum of 50% in their bachelor’s course.
  • Students should have completed their LLB from an institution recognized by the bar council of India.

LLM Entrance Exam: TISS NET

TISSNET is conducted by the Tata Institute of social sciences for securing admissions into various undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses including the law. TISS offers LLM courses that are renowned across the country.

Eligibility

  • Students belonging to have to score an aggregate of 55% marks in their LLB.
  • Students belonging to SC/ST have to score a minimum of 50% in their bachelor’s course.
  • Students should have completed their LLB from an institution recognized by the bar council of India.

TISS NET is usually conducted around February and the registration for which begins in October.

LLM Entrance Exams: Admission process

Given below is the step-by-step process you should follow for admissions:

Step 1 – students have to register and then fill up the application form with the correct details and submit the application form.
Step 2 – students have to upload documents, photographs, and signatures and also pay an application fee without which the form will not be submitted.
Step 3 – after the release of the admit card, the candidate will have to sit for the exam on the given date as mentioned on the card.
Step 4 – after the declaration of results the institutions will release their cut-off list and only the students who’ve cleared the exam will be offered a seat in the top colleges of their choice.
