What is Ashirwad Scholarship?

Started and offered by the government of Punjab, the  Ashirwad scholarship aimed at providing financial support to students belonging from ST/SC/OBC category who are domicile of Punjab. Awarded every year to students belonging from the mentioned category and facing financial constraints, it is a post-matric scholarship which helps students pursue higher education qualifications at the undergraduate and postgraduate level. 40% of the scholarship has been reserved for female candidates to facilitate equal rights to education. The scholarship provides financial support to underprivileged students of Punjab to pursue full time and diploma degrees in professional and vocational courses.

Eligibility Criteria

• The applicant should necessarily be domiciled in Punjab and be an Indian national. 
• The candidate should belong to the SC/ST/OBC section
• The age of the applicant should not be less than 17years while applying
•  The annual family income of the SC/ST applicant should not exceed 2,50,000 INR and for the OBC candidate, the annual family income should not be more than 1,00,000 INR.
• Additionally, the student applying for this scholarship should not be eligible for any other scholarship.
