What is West Bengal Oasis Scholarship?
The Government of West Bengal has come up with this initiative through its Backward Classes Welfare and Tribal Development Departments to provide academic scholarships to SC, ST and OBC students studying in pre-matric (class 9th and class 10th) and post-matric (UG, PG and diploma). This scholarship financially supports students in their senior secondary education and higher studies in the field of Medicine, Engineering, Nursing, BEd. and MEd, Pharmacy, Diploma, PTTI, BVSc and LLB courses.

The Backward Classes Welfare and Tribal Development Departments offer 4 main Oasis Scholarships which are:

Oasis Scholarship Eligibility
Below is a list of vital eligibility requirements for students to be qualified for Oasis scholarships issued by the West Bengal Backward Classes Welfare and Tribal Development Departments.
- The applicant should be a West Bengal resident.
- The applicant should have a low annual family income to be eligible for the scholarship.
- The applicant should have scored 50% cumulative marks in the previous final examination.
- The applicant should have attained a certain number of required attendance.
- 30% of the scholarship programs are reserved for female students.
- The scholarship will be given to only 2 applicants from the same family or blood relation.

Oasis Scholarship 2023 Application Process
The online Oasis Scholarship portal ensures an easy application process for the scholarship. Below we have compiled a step-by-step procedure to be followed for applying for WB Oasis Scholarship. Oasis Scholarship 2023 Registration
- Visit the official OASIS Scholarship Application Portal and click on the Student’s Registration link to apply as a fresh candidate.
- Choose your District (where your institution is located) for application. Students who are studying outside West Bengal should select the district of their permanent address.
- Fill in the required caste certification details: Your Name, Father’s Name and Computerised Caste Certificate Number (Manual Certificate will not be accepted) and click on the Submit button.
- Update basic details like Date of Birth, Sub-Caste, Current Institution Name, Phone Number and Email along with a Scanned Photograph.
- Then click on Submit button to complete your registration.
- Download the computer-generated Acknowledgement Slip.
- The PDF file will contain the Applicant’s User ID and Password for future login.

Completion of the Application Form
- Visit OASIS Scholarship Application Portal and click on Registered Student’s Login link.
- Now enter your User ID, Password and District and click on the Login button.
- Click on the Further Details button and fill in all the required details like communication address, institution details etc and save it.
- Enter your bank account information: Bank Name, Account Number, IFSC Code and MICR Code. Then click on Verify and Lock option and once lock it you cannot edit these details.
- Click on the Print Application button and download the Application Form.

Submission of the Application Form
- Take a printout of your Application Form and attach the following documents.
- Stamp-size photograph.
- Attested copy of the Marksheet or Certificate of the last examination.
- Attested copy of Caste Certificate.
- Copy of the first page of your bank passbook.
- Submit your application form with your signature to your concerned BDO Office (for block area) and PO-cum-DWO (for the corporation and municipality area).

- Enter your User ID or Application Serial Number and Application Session.

Oasis Scholarship Renewal
Here is the procedure to be followed for quick online renewal of your scholarship application provided by the West Bengal Backward Classes Welfare and Tribal Development Departments.
- Visit the OASIS Scholarship Application Portal and click on the Renew Scholarship button.
- Log in with your User ID, Password and applied District.
- Check all the details and information provided by you previously. If you wish to update any information, add it and save the changes.
- Click on Renew Application and then Renew and Lock Application button.
- Download the acknowledgement slip.
- Now submit this copy with your signature to your concerned BDO Office (for block area) and PO-cum-DWO (for corporation and municipality area).
