What is a Master of Engineering?

A Master of Engineering is a postgraduate program that lasts 1-2 years and consists of four semesters. Students who have completed a bachelor’s degree in engineering can continue their education with a master’s degree in engineering. They will receive professional training and theoretical expertise in advanced engineering concepts through this course.

Students can choose their Masters in Engineering specialization based on the program they have studied at the undergraduate level. Admission to the Master of Engineering program is either through an entrance exam or direct admission. Abroad

Those who are planning to pursue a Master of Engineering abroad must acquire the following:

  • At least 55% in the Bachelor’s degree
  • Must meet the exact program’s academic criteria, as specified by the chosen university

In India 

The following is the eligibility criteria that students must meet to pursue the Master of Engineering program:

  • The candidate must have received a minimum of 55% in all subjects aggregated in the qualifying exam.
  • Some institutes may also conduct their entrance exam, PI and GD, to determine whether or not students are eligible for admission.

Admission Process

  • Admission to a Master of Engineering program may differ from university to university. While some institutes  have their own entrance exams to evaluate students, certain colleges may accept students based on their performance in the qualifying exam.
  • The merit of the students is considered during the initial admission procedure based on the documents submitted.
  • If the student meets the admissions requirements, he or she will be required to take a written test, followed by an interview round. If the student qualifies based on his or her overall score in the written test and interview round, he or she will be called for the counseling round.

Please note: Admission to a ME course in a specific college will also be determined by the number of seats available, the student’s grades, and the college’s reservation policy. The shortlisted applicants can pay the admission fee to confirm their spot for admission after the counseling stage.
