Have you ever wondered who makes tall buildings touching heights of the sky? The credit for this goes to Structural Engineers. Structural Engineering is a type of Civil Engineering which deals with building and repairing of massive buildings like skyscrapers. In this blog, we will cover the basics of this Engineering and its related attributes including top courses, universities and career options. Lets glace through the blog to know more!
This Blog Includes:
What is Structural Engineering?
It is a benchmark program and specialization of the Civil Engineering. The study concentrates on the skeleton and design of structures. It further ensures safety by creating those structures which can resist the pressures, stresses due to harsh climate condition of the environment. This Engineering is all about repairing, analyzing, designing, planning, designing and surveying of buildings. The construction of massive structures like underground tunnels, flyover bridges, buildings and escalators are a part of this Engineering only. In crux, it is responsible for the stability and security of buildings and skyscrapers throughout their use. Some of the major subjects covered in this course are listed below:
Structural Optimisation | Repair and Rehabilitation of Structure |
Composite Material & Structures | Structural Dynamics & Earthquake Engineering |
Industrial Management | Theory of Elasticity & Plasticity |
Advanced Structural Analysis | Advanced Structural Design |
Soil-Structure Interaction | Advanced Foundation Engineering |
Bridge Engineering | Pre-stressed Concrete Structures |
Theory of elasticity and plasticity | Advanced Engineering Mathematics |
