Established in 1911, Southern Methodist University is a private institute that has affiliations with the American Council on Education, the International Association of Methodist-related Schools, Universities Research Association, and Oak Ridge Associated Universities. Southern Methodist University has been accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to offer bachelor, postgraduate, doctorate, and professional programs. Southern Methodist University ranks #801-1000 in QS Top Universities, #68 in National University Ranking, #614 in Best Global Universities Rankings, and #43 in Best Business School Ranking in the US News & World Reports in the year 2022. 

Infrastructure, Campuses and Courses

The Southern Methodist University main campus is spread across an area of 237 acres. University has two more campuses, the Taos campus and the Plano campus. The Taos campus has an area of  423 acres whereas the Plano campus is comparatively a smaller campus, which has an area of 16 acres. The university offers programs from its 8 different faculties: School of Business, College of Humanities and Sciences, School of Law, School of Engineering, School of Theology, School of the Arts, School of Graduate and Advanced Studies, and School of Education and Human Development. The most popular programs at the institute are Advertising, Anthropology, Business, Literature, Management, and Art.

The Southern Methodist University ranks #42 in U.S Best Business School, to Bloomberg. Also, it has been ranked #92 in the Global MBA Ranking by Financial Times.
