Lee Kuan Yew

Born on 16 September 1923, Lee Kuan Yew is well known as the former Prime Minister of Singapore from 1959 to 1990. Goh Chok Tong

Born on 20 May 1941 Goh is popular as a politician who has served as a minister for trade and industry, health and defence. Halimah Yacob

The first female president of Singapore in the history of Singapore, Halimah Yacob is serving as the current and 8th President of Singapore. She had been a member of the People’s Action Party before she resigned to pursue an independent run for the presidency in 2017 and eventually, she won the elections after a walkover. Born on 23 August 1954, Halimah was a Member of Parliament before the presidency and the second president in the year 2017.

Moreover, Halimah had prior experience as the 9th Speaker of the Parliament of Singapore. She is one of the successful and inspirational people from the National University of Singapore. She completed a Bachelor of Law degree in the year 1978 from the University of Singapore and also obtained a master’s degree (Masters of Laws) from the National University of Singapore in the year 1981.
