The Government of India’s University Grant Commission (UGC) is awarding Post Graduate Merit Scholarships to university-rank holders. This program focuses on top and second-place finishers in various graduation courses across the country. The award is designed to encourage talented individuals to pursue postgraduate studies.

Who All Are Eligible:

  • You should be under the age of 30.
  • Must be enrolled in a post-graduate program at a university (central/state) or one of the deemed universities/private universities/25 autonomous institutions/non-UGC affiliated colleges.
  • Must have received a first or second-place finish on the previous graduating exam.
  • A bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields is required: life sciences, physical sciences, chemical sciences, earth sciences, mathematical sciences, social sciences, commerce, and language.
  • A graduation grade point average of at least 60% is required.

Rewards:

The scholarship is worth INR 3100 per month for a period of two years.

ONGC Foundation Scholarship Scheme for OBCs

The selected scholars will get a lump sum amount of INR 4,000 per month i.e. INR 48,000 per annum.

Post Graduate Scholarship for Professional Courses for SC/ST

The scheme was created with the social background of candidates from the poorest sections of society in mind, with the goal of providing them with the opportunity to pursue postgraduate studies in professional subjects such as engineering, technology, management, and pharmacy in Indian universities, institutes, and colleges.

Eligibility:

  • This fellowship is open to candidates who have finished their undergraduate studies and have been accepted into the first year of a professional postgraduate program.
  • The applicant must be studying for a master’s degree in a regular full-time manner.
  • Male applicants’ upper age restriction should not exceed 45 years, while female candidates’ upper age limit should not exceed 50 years.

Reward:

Candidates accepted for PG scholarships will get a monthly scholarship of INR.5000/- (M.Tech) with a contingency grant of INR.15000/- per annum, and a monthly scholarship of INR.3000/- with a contingency grant of INR.10,000/- per annum for the length of the PG Scholarship for other courses.

Merit cum Means Scholarship for Professional and Technical Courses
