What is Charles Wallace India Trust?
Charles Wallace trusts were established in the year 1981 in order to fulfill the will of Charles Wallace, a British businessman who wanted to dedicate his fortunes to the well being of the people around him. In his will he wrote, “All possessions great and small being acquired through the people, as mine were, should return to the people”. To commemorate his will four trusts were opened up in countries that were formerly a part of British India, namely India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Myanmar. Through this initiative came into being the Charles Wallace India Trust.
