Officially known as The Provost, Fellows, Foundation Scholars and the other members of Board, of the College of the Holy and Undivided Trinity of Queen Elizabeth near Dublin, Trinity College Dublin is the University of Dublin's sole constituent college, a research university situated in Dublin, Ireland. Founded in 1592, this university is known to be Ireland's oldest university. This university was structured after well-established collegiate universities but established only one college which is known to be the Trinity College Dublin. From 1947 onwards, this university became one of the largest state-funded universities in Ireland. Located in a beautiful campus in the heart of Dublin’s city centre, Trinity is Ireland’s highest-ranked university. The institute is affiliated and associated with several hospitals in Dublin and institutions like the Royal Irish Academy of Music, Marino Institute of Education and Church of Ireland Theological Institute. Furthermore, Trinity Business School and Trinity College Dublin has gained Triple-Accreditation, after gaining accreditation from AACSB International. The university also holds top rankings in the rankings released and ranks #101 in the QS World University Rankings 2022, #=146 in THE World University Rankings 2022, #222 in the U.S. News Best Global Universities Rankings 2022 and between #151-200 in the CWUR (Shaingai) Rankings 2021.
Campus, Courses and Infrastructure
Trinity College Dublin has one campus that spreads across an area of 51 acres and consists of buildings that showcase a blend of modern and historical architecture. It offers over 600 programs through its three faculties and 24 schools. The courses are offered to 18,000 students at undergraduate, graduate and doctorate levels. Trinity College Dublin is known for public gardens and parks, Georgian architecture, art galleries, museums, theatres. The university has a diverse population of 1.5 million students, Trinity Hall residential services can accommodate over 1,000 students in shared, single or twin apartments. It also has many specialized schools under the three main faculties. Trinity has been ranked 40th Most International University in the World as per the Times Higher Education World University Ranking, 2020. It is also the highest-ranked university in Ireland.
