When is World Diabetes Day 2023 Celebrated?

World Diabetes Day is celebrated every year on 14 November. This day was founded by the International Diabetes Federation in 1991. WHO has supported this initiative of the IDF and this day became the United Nations Day in 2006. The United Nations passed resolution 61/225 and registered this day as an annual event.

WDD is celebrated on 14 November to commemorate the birth anniversary of the co-discoverer of insulin Sir Federick Banting. In 1922, he along with Charles Best discovered Insulin, a hormone used to regulate the blood sugar levels in diabetes.
