As per the resolution (168(II)), the UN general assembly, on 31 October 1947 declared this day would be dedicated to raising awareness of the goals and achievements of the UN and gaining support for its work. History and Significance

The United Nations officially came into existence on 24 October 1945. On this day the UN was ratified with five major signatories, including China, France, the Soviet Union, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

The day marks the eminence of the UN and that there is no other global organization with legitimacy, authority, and prestige like the UN focused on maintaining world peace and security and giving hope to many people around the world for a better future with the greater good.

United Nations Day is celebrated on 24 October every year. It is to commemorate the establishment of the United Nations in 1945  with the ratification of the five major signatories, including. China, France, the Soviet Union, the United Kingdom, and the United States. It offers the opportunity to amplify the common agenda of the UN and reaffirm its purposes and principles that have guided us for the past 77 years and are still continuing the same.

The United Nations has six different integral organs namely, the General Assembly, the Security Council, the International Court of Justice, the Trusteeship Council the Economic and Social Council, and the UN Secretariat that collectively work together for a better future. The UN has organized many sustainable development campaigns for the generation of today and tomorrow.
