Number of Scholarships Offered

MDI offers two types of scholarships for students looking for admission to the institute. Here are the general details of each:

AICTE Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW) Scheme (Scheme-I)

According to the AICTE Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW) plan On the basis of their merit in the admissions rank, up to 15 students in the first year of the PGDM Programme and 6 in the PGDM-HRM Programme are offered scholarships of 100% tuition fee waiver.

These students are chosen from among those who applied to us and have a family income of up to Rs. 8.00 Lacs per year. To be eligible for the TFW Scheme, students must present any of the following certificates given during the year of application while applying to the programme.

  • Any government revenue authority can issue a family income certificate.
  • Certificate of Economically Weaker Section (EWS)
  • A non-creamy layer certificate issued by a government agency

Those who apply are evaluated based on their admissions rank, subject to a maximum number of candidates exceeding the approved intake, as per AICTE criteria.

Merit cum Means Scholarship (Scheme-II)

Every year, MDI Gurgaon awards 10 merit cum means scholarships (50% tuition price waiver) to students studying two-year full-time PGDM/PGDM-HRM/PGDM-IB programmes.

Qualification
The applicant’s parents’ annual income should not exceed Rs.8.0 lakhs.*

* The income slab is linked to the applicable government policy for EWS (Economically Weaker Section), which provides assistance to those with family incomes of less than Rs.8.0 lakhs per year.

O.P. Jindal Scholarship

First and second-year students are eligible for this scholarship.
The maximum amount offered is INR 1,50,000.

By the end of the second year, 5 merit scholarships are awarded to the top 5 meritorious students. The maximum amount is INR 10,000 each.

International Scholarships

MDI offers scholarships to international students who go for exchange programmes at MDI’s partner universities. These scholarships are institute-level, international and outside scholarships.

FPM by MDI Scholarship

In addition to these scholarships, MDI Gurgaon offers another type of FPM scholarship of a maximum of four years for non-MBA students and three years for MBA students. 

  • The scholarship amount will be Rs 24,000 per month for the first two years.
  • For the remaining period, it will be Rs 26,000 per month. 
  • Additionally,  to support their fieldwork, purchase of books, and other expenses, a contingency grant is also given to FPM students.

MDI Scholarship: Admission

Students who meet the eligibility criteria for MDI are offered admission. The eligibility criteria vary depending on the course chosen. 

  • Several post-graduate programmes are offered by MDI in various specialisations.
  • Candidates must have a valid score in CAT for selection
  • Selection is followed by a round of WAT-GD-PI. 
  • For Foreign/NRI/PIO candidates, valid GMAT scores are considered for admission.
  • For PGPM, shortlisting of candidates for WAT-GD-PI is done based on CAT percentiles including sectional cutoff and the minimum CAT cutoff percentile is decided based on the number of candidates getting shortlisted.

MDI Gurgaon Application Process 2023

Applications for MDI must be made online and are usually available for admission between September to November. Candidates must follow the following steps:

  • Candidates must apply online.
  • Candidates must select the program and follow the instructions stated.
  • Candidates must pay an application fee of INR 3000.
  • Payment must be made using Credit/Debit card/Net Banking

Selection Process

  • Because the students are in Term I, their combined CGPA for Term I and Term II should be more than 6.0 in order to be considered for the MDI award.
  • Based on real documents presented by candidates to the GP office, the qualified candidates’ parents’ annual income should not exceed Rs.8.0 lakhs* (Economically Weaker Section).
  • If there is a tie, the absolute score of the specific students’ courses (Term-I & Term II) will be taken into account.
  • To sustain the MDI scholarship, the awardee must maintain a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 6.0 in each term. In the event of unsatisfactory performance, i.e. a CGPA less than 6.0 in any term, no MDI scholarship will be awarded in the next term.
