Is It Possible to Study MBBS in Russia without NEET?
According to the official website of the Embassy of India in Moscow, Indian students seeking admission to foreign medical institutions, including those in Russia, are required to qualify for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). This qualification is mandatory for pursuing an MBBS degree abroad and for subsequent licensing to practice medicine in India, as NEET qualification is mandatory for Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) and National Exit Test (NExT). Therefore, while some Russian universities may offer admission without NEET, Indian students must clear NEET to ensure their degrees are recognised upon returning to India. It’s crucial to verify the latest guidelines from both Indian and Russian authorities before making any decisions.
Russian universities that offer this pathway often focus on providing international-standard education, but aspirants should thoroughly research their post-graduation options and the recognition of their degree in their home country. Consulting an expert before applying is crucial to ensure compliance with Indian Medical Council (NMC) regulations and to make an informed decision.
