About MCI

MCI Exam for Medical Students

The Medical Council of India holds an examination for licensing medical students who got their degrees from abroad. This exam is called the Foreign Medical Graduates Examination (FMGE). This exam is held by the National board of examination, India. The students completing their MBBS degrees from MCI approved medical colleges need to appear for the MCI screening test to get a license to practice in India. Knowledge about the course is enough to help the students crack the exam and earn their licenses.

MCI Screening Test

There are certain points about the screening test for MCI that students must know while applying to MCI approved medical colleges.

• This test is taken twice a year.
• The test is divided into two sections of 150 marks each which accommodates a total of 300 MCQs.
• There is no negative marking.
• A minimum aggregate mark of 50% is required to sit for this exam.
• The test allows multiple retakes.
