France might not be as affordable as Germany, and might not even have public universities with free tuition fees, but as compared to other countries, it sure has a minimum university fee, such as €170 (INR 15,000) for EU students, and €2,770 (INR 2.5 lakh), for non-EU students. Along with this, France also recently tripled the number of scholarships available to international students. This allows students to further their education by supporting themselves financially. Study Abroad For Free in Nordic Countries

The northern European nations are known as Nordic Countries. These are Denmark, Iceland, Finland, Norway, and Sweden. Nordic countries offer several opportunities for students to study for free or at an affordable cost. 

Norway

In Norway, students can utilise the bracket of free tuition fees that are provided in several universities, regardless of nationality. The tuition fee that is to be paid is for a semester, which is NOK 300-600 (INR 2,500 to 5,000). Though at an undergraduate level, programs are offered and taught in the domestic/national language, therefore you will need to prove your language proficiency. But for postgraduate or PhD courses, several programs are taught in English and free tuition is still available.

Iceland

In this Nordic country as well, there are no applicable tuition fees and university education is free at four public universities. Just note that only a registration fee is to be paid, which is around ISK 75,000 (INR 43,000) a year. 

Denmark

Though higher education perks are mostly reserved for EU students, PhD programs are exceptional and are provided for free. Let’s look at international fees for bachelor’s and master’s levels in Denmark: here, the university fee ranges from DKK 45,000 and DKK 120,000 (INR 5.2 lakh to INR 14 lakh).

Sweden

For most courses in Sweden, the international fees at the undergraduate level and postgraduate level fall between SEK 80,000 and SEK 145,000 (INR 6.2 lakh to 11.3 lakh).

Finland

Only recently have tuition fees been introduced in Finland. Here, most students will pay an amount between €6,000 – 18,000 (INR 5 lakh to 16 lakh) per year.

Study Abroad For Free in Other European Countries 

Looking at some of the other remaining European countries that allow international students to study abroad for free, or at an affordable cost, we find the below.

Austria

EU students are the ones who highly benefit from having to pay no tuition fees in Austria. The fees that are expected from international students are around €726 (INR 63,000) per year. Not that high, though international students also need to manage their living costs, which is around €11,400 (INR 10 lakh) a year.

Talking about Greece, the fees international students need to pay is €1,500 (INR 1.3 lakh) per year. International students are clearly known for availing of this free higher education in Greece. 

Italy and Spain

For Italy, international students can take admitted to public universities, as they charge comparatively cheaper education fees, somewhere between €900 and €4,000 (INR 78.5 lakh and 3.5 lakh). Whereas when we talk about Spain, international students are able to study for between €750 and €2,500 (INR 65,000 and 2 lakh) per year. 

Study Abroad at Affordable Cost in Other Countries 

Two more countries in the world, that are Argentina and Taiwan provide great courses of value at affordable cost.
