What is the Full Form of RC?

The full form of RC is the Registration Certificate. The RC is also known as a Vehicle Registration Certificate (VRC) and is an official and important document for your vehicle. Moreover, it is a document serving as proof of registration with the Regional Transport Office (RTO) authority. The RC includes the technical specifications of a car and the relevant information about the owner is present. Furthermore, the Government of India has made it law to drive an automobile while in possession of a copy of the RC. In the past, older registration certificates were handwritten had several pages, and were referred to as RC books. Today, however, one can obtain a copy of a registration certificate in the form of a smart card.

Documents Required to Make an RC

In addition, the documents required to make an RC are as follows:

• Application in CMV Form 20
• One-time road tax receipt
• Vehicle Insurance Certificate
• Address proof of the vehicle owner:-

• Aadhaar Card
• LIC Policy
• Affidavit by the applicant
• Ration Card
• Self-attested copy of address proof

• Form 22 provided by the manufacturer of the vehicle
• Form 21 provided by the dealer of the vehicle
• Form 34 attested by the vehicle owner and the financier (In case of hypothecation)
• Vehicle receipt from the dealer
• Passport-size photographs of the vehicle owner
• Vehicle registration fee

Moreover, the registration number is assigned and a fee receipt is issued only after all the documents are submitted. The fee receipt needs to be kept safely till the time you get the RC.
