What is the full form of RC?

RC full form is “Registration Certificate”. Registration Certificate (RC), also known as Vehicle Registration certificate (VRC) is an official and important document for the vehicle. A document serving as proof of registration with the Regional Transport Office (RTO) authority is known as a Registration Certificate copy. Both the technical specifications of the car and the relevant information about the owner are included.

The government of India has made it lawful to drive an automobile while in possession of a copy of the RC. Older registration certificates were handwritten, had several pages, and were referred to as RC books. Today, however, one can obtain a copy of a registration certificate in the form of a smart card.

Components of Registration Certificate:

Registration Certificate (RC) contains the following information:

• Validity of the registration
• Vehicle chassis number
• Vehicle registration number and engine number
• Body type and cubic capacity
• Month and year of manufacture of the vehicle
• Name and address of the vehicle owner
• Vehicle registration date and hypothecation details (if applicable)

• One time road tax receipt
• Vehicle Insurance Certificate
• Address proof of the vehicle owner:-

• LIC Policy
• Affidavit by the applicant
• Ration Card
• Self-attested copy of address proof

• Form 22 provided by the manufacturer of the vehicle
• Form 21 provided by the dealer of the vehicle
• Form 34 attested by the vehicle owner and the financier (In case of hypothecation)
• Vehicle receipt from the dealer
• Passport sized photographs of the vehicle owner
• Vehicle registration fee

The registration  no. is assigned and a fee receipt is issued only after all the documents are submitted. The fee receipt needs to be kept safely till the time you get the RC.
