Two female students from India received the Australian Government’s prestigious Victorian Premier’s Award.

Divyangana Sharma and Ritika Saxena won this year’s International Student of the Year award. These awards are an initiative of the Government of Victoria to celebrate outstanding international students in Victoria.

Divyangana Sharma won the Victorian Premier’s Award – International Student of the Year 2021-22. She came to Melbourne to pursue nursing at Holmesglen Institute in 2020.

Ritika Saxena won the International Student of the Year in the Research category. She was only 18 when she moved to Melbourne and is now a Ph.D. student working on stem cell research in Australia.

Award winners in each student category received USD 6,000 to support their studies, with up to two runners-up receiving USD 2,000 each, excluding the International Alumnus of the Year award winners.

These awards are a ray of hope for parents who fear sending their children abroad for higher studies. When given the opportunity, one can reach heights. Indian students winning such awards and leaving behind students from all over the world prove this.
