The IELTS exam does not state whether you have failed or cleared the exam. Instead, it ranks your existing English language level on a scale of 5. If you have received a score of 5.5 you must check with your university if it accepts an IELTS score of 5.5 for admission. If it doesn’t it means you don’t qualify. If it does, it means you qualify for study in the university.
