The Full Form of AIEEE is the All India Engineering Entrance Examination. AIEEE is now referred to as JEE (Joint Entrance Examination). It is a National-level entrance examination conducted for admission to IIT and NIT colleges in India. Why did AIEEE Start in India?

AIEEE was started in 2002 and conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education. Initially, entrance exams were conducted at the university level. It was difficult for students to appear for different entrance exams due to which a common entrance exam AIEEE is conducted.
There are a total of 25 IITs (Indian Institutes of Technology), 31 NITs (National Institute of Technology), 25 IIITs (Indian Institute of Information Technology), and 27 GFTIs (Government Funded Technical Institutions).

Evolution of AIEEE to JEE Exams
AIEEE was established in 2002 and this exam is also conducted as the Common Entrance Test (CET). Later in 2017, the Ministry of Education transferred this responsibility to the National Testing Agency (NTA) which is now conducted as JEE (Joint Entrance Examination).
JEE Examination is conducted in two stages:
- JEE Main
- JEE Advanced
This exam is conducted twice a year. The three main subjects that are included in the exam are Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The first session was held in January and the second session was held in April.
