This Odisha govt scholarship scheme provides financial aid to 14,500 students on various education levels: UG, PG, professional, and technical courses. Started by the Higher Education Department, it grants up to INR 20,000 to eligible students. 

Eligibility Criteria: Let’s take a look at its eligibility criteria for different categories of students:

Biju Yuba Sashaktikaran Yojana (LAPTOP DBT)

Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for this Odisha govt scholarship, the applicant must:

  • Be a resident/domicile of the state of Odisha.
  • Have passed the Higher Secondary Examination (HSE) from the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Odisha, or the Upshastri Examination from Shree Jagannath Sanskrit University, Puri.
  • Have scored a minimum of 70% marks in the HSE or Upshastri Examination.
  • Be between 18 – 25 years of age.

Scholarship Amount: Eligible students receive INR 30,000 per year

  • Fill in the registration form and submit it.

  • Select the “Biju Yuva Sashaktikaran Yojana” scheme and click on the “Apply Now” button.

  • Submit the application form.

Gopabandhu Sikhya Sahayata Yojana

Eligibility Criteria: To avail of this Odisha govt scholarship, the applicant must be:

  • A citizen of India.
  • A resident of Odisha.
  • Pursuing a full-time UG/PG course (non-technical, technical, or professional) at a government university in Odisha or a college/institution recognized by the state government.
  • Having a family income of less than INR 1.2 lakh per annum from all sources.
  • Having passed the qualifying examination with at least 50% marks.

Scholarship Amount: INR 20,000 per year to eligible students in both UG and PG courses.

How to Apply?: The application process for the Gopabandhu Sikhya Sahayata Yojana is as follows:

  • Visit the official website of the Higher Education Department, Odisha
  • Download the application form.
  • Fill out the application form carefully and submit it along with all the required documents to the concerned college/university.
  • The college/university will forward the application form to the Higher Education Department for further processing.

Note: The scholarship amount is disbursed to the selected students in two installments, one in the middle of the academic year and the other at the end of the academic year.

Kalinga Sikhya Sathi Yojana (Loan Scheme)

Eligibility Criteria: The eligibility criteria for this Odisha govt scholarship is as follows:

The applicant must be-

  • A resident of Odisha.
  • Having an annual family income of less than INR 6 lakhs.
  • Admitted to a recognized higher education institution in India or abroad.
  • Pursuing a full-time UG, PG, or professional course.

Loan Amount: INR 10 lakhs (maximum) with 1% interest on loan amount. The interest’s balance amount will be borne by the state government.

How to Apply?: Here’s how you can apply for KSSY Loan scheme:

  • Download the application form from the official website of the Higher Education Department, Odisha.
  • Fill up the application form and submit it to the concerned bank along with the required documents.
  • The bank will process the application and sanction the loan if the applicant meets all the eligibility criteria.

Note: 

  • The interest subvention under KSSY will be provided for the entire period of the loan, including the moratorium period.
  • The moratorium period for education loans is usually course period plus one year.
  • The loan repayment period under KSSY is up to 15 years.

Vyasakabi Fakirmohan Bhasabruti Scholarship

Eligibility Criteria: To benefit from this Odisha Govt scholarship, the applicant must have/be:

  • A resident of Odisha
  • Scored a minimum of 60% marks in English subject in their HSE.
  • Pursuing their UG/PG degree from a recognized Indian university.
  • Having a family income of less than INR 8 lakhs per annum.

Scholarship Amount: INR 5,000 (for UG students), INR 7,000 (for PG students)
