About Savitri Bai Phule Scholarship

Savitri Bai Phule Scholarship for Girl Student 2024 is named after Savitri Bai Phule, a renowned social reformer and educationist who fought for the rights of women and Dalits in the 19th century. Apart from all these ferocious qualities, she was also the first female teacher in India and established the first school for girls in Pune. The scholarship is a tribute to her legacy and vision of empowering girls through education and was initiated by the Government of Maharashtra in 2001.
