Objective of the AAI Scholarship
The main goal of the AAI Scholarship is to provide financial assistance to sports students so that they can continue their studies while continuing to participate in sports. Under this scholarship, students are also given a medical allowance. Another important goal of this scholarship is to bring out young and talented sports students. After the scholarship is awarded to the students they will be offered employment opportunities as well.

Benefits Provided Under AAI Sports Scholarship Scheme
Under AAI Scholarship Scheme selected students will be awarded a scholarship amount and medical allowance of INR 1,000. The duration of the scholarship is 1 year. The table below represents the scholarship amount awarded to different age groups:

Eligibility Criteria
The applicants need to fulfil the following eligibility criteria to apply for the AAI Sports Scholarship Scheme –
- The student should be a permanent citizen of India.
- The student should either belong to the open category or the AAI employee ward category.
- The student should be a sportsperson carrying out sports activities consistently.
- The student should belong to the age group of 14 years to 24 years.
Eligible Age Group and Limit
The selection body for the AAI Sports Scholarship Scheme has set an age limit on the applicants who can apply for this scholarship. The student should belong to the age group of 14 years to 24 years and should also be carrying out sports activities. If the student is below 14 years or above 24, they will be disqualified and won’t be considered for the scholarship.

Allotted Beneficiary Categories and Seat Reservations
There are two allotted beneficiary categories for the AAI Sports Scholarship Scheme – Open Category and AAI employee ward category. There are a total of 100 seats available under this scholarship out of which 85 are reserved for the Open category and the remaining 15 are for the AAI employee ward category.

AAI Sports Scholarship Selection Procedure
The selection committee headed by the President of the Airports Authority of India will select the students for the scholarship. The documents submitted by the applicants will be scrutinised by the selection committee. The applicant who performs well on the parameters set by the committee will be selected for the scholarship and considered eligible.
