About Akshaya Scholarship

The Akshaya Scholarship 2024 is a scheme launched by the Government of Kerala in association with the Akshaya Centers that provides financial assistance for students who are exceptionally good in academics. This is a merit as well as a need-based scholarship program in which students from minority communities or with disabilities can also benefit from this scholarship program.

Benefits of Akshaya Scholarship

Here are some details regarding the key benefits of the Akshaya Scholarship:

  • Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme for Minorities- In this particular Akshaya Scholarship scheme, students from minority communities can get a scholarship amount that ranges from INR 1,000 to INR 6,000 per annum. The scholarship amount is dependent on the class and is only valid for classes 1 to 10. 
  • Post Matric Scholarships Scheme for Minorities– This scheme provides financial assistance to students from minority communities studying in classes 11 to PhD level. The scholarship amount ranges from INR  3000 to INR 20,000 per annum depending on the course and type of institution.
  • Merit Cum Means Scholarship For Professional and Technical Courses– This Akshaya scholarship provides financial help to students pursuing professional and technical courses at the graduate or postgraduate level who also belong to the minority. The scholarship amount covers the full course fee and maintenance allowance up to Rs. 20,000 per annum.
  • Akshaya Merit and Sports Scholarship– The benefit of this scholarship it provides a fee waiver to meritorious and sports-talented students admitted to Akshaya College of Engineering and Technology (ACET) or Akshaya College of Arts and Science (ACAS). The fee waiver includes tuition, hostel (room rent and food), or bus fees depending on the category and performance of the student.

Eligibility Criteria

To avail of the benefits of the Akshaya Scholarship you need to meet some essential eligibility criteria. We have listed them below, kindly take a look:

  • You should be a citizen of India
  • You should belong to a minority community ie. (Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, or Parsi) or have a physical disability certificate
  • You need to pass all your examinations with at least 50% marks
  • Your annual family income should be less than INR 2.5 lakh for pre-matric schemes, INR 2 lakh for post-matric schemes, and INR 6 lakh for merit-cum-means schemes.
  • If you avail of any other scholarship or stipend from any other source you will be ineligible for this scholarship

  • You need to head over to the official page of NSP that provides government scholarships.
  • You can also simply search for “NSP Government Scholarships” on your search engine.
  • You need to register yourself as a new user on this website by providing your basic details like name, date of birth, mobile number, email ID, bank account number, etc.
  • After filling up all the details create a new account and remember the credentials
  • Now you need to log in to your account and fill up the application form with your personal, academic, and income details.
  • Upload all the required documents as asked and submit your application
  • You can also take a screenshot or printout of the application form for future reference
