The full form of APO is Assistant Prosecution Officer. The job profile of an Assistant Prosecution Officer is to provide assistance to Prosecution officers in various legal cases. Their work involves gathering evidence and other information related to the court cases. Apart from this, they also prepare the required documents for the cases. The eligibility criteria to apply for UPPSC (Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission) APO post involves the applicant must be a law graduate from a recognised university or law school. Also, they must belong to the age group of 21 yrs to 40 yrs.
UPPSC APO Syllabus and Exam Pattern
There are two components to the UP APO exam syllabus. The first section carries 50 marks, while the second section contains 100 marks. There are 150 total marks for the exam. Geography, science, current events, Indian history, the Indian National Movement, and Indian politics and economy are only a few of the topics covered in Part 1’s questions.
The second section is made up of legal issues drawn from the UP Police Act and Regulations, the Criminal Procedure Code, and the Indian Penal Code and Evidence Act. There will only be descriptive content in the General Knowledge and Law parts; all other areas will be objective. Additionally, you receive a mark for each correct response while losing three points for each incorrect response.
You can take the main exam if you successfully achieve the necessary cut-off scores. You will have to answer the GK, English and Hindi, criminal law and procedure, as well as law of evidence-related questions in the main exam. Each segment carries 100 marks in the 500 marks UPPSC APO Main test.
APO Salary Structure
Exams are administered by the UPPSC for a variety of sub-divisional, district, divisional, and state-level positions, where the primary responsibility is usually to supervise the operation of the corresponding departments.
There are three of these positions, and the pay scale changes depending on the grade for each. For example, the pay range for all state-level positions is between Rs. 9,300 and Rs. 15,600 to Rs. 39,100. The UPPSC also employs Level 8 Range Forest Officers and Level 10 Assistant Conservators, both of whom have different pay scales.
