Indra Nooyi

Nooyi, who is known for being a very innovative, enthusiastic, and hardworking individual, has climbed from humble beginnings to become one of the world’s top female executives. 

She earned her MBA from the Indian Institute of Management in Calcutta and then continued her study at Yale School of Management, where she earned a master’s degree in Public and Private Management in 1978.

She joined PepsiCo in 1994 and quickly progressed through the ranks, eventually becoming the company’s CEO in 2006. She has played a key role in diversifying and expanding PepsiCo’s brands, which had previously been exclusively centered on soft drinks.

Meryl Streep

Mary Louise Streep, better known by her stage name Meryl Streep, is an American actress recognized for her masterful technique, dialect expertise, and subtly expressive countenance. She began performing in high school and voice training at the age of 12. Streep got a master of fine arts degree in theatre from Yale University in 1975. She subsequently relocated to New York City to pursue a professional acting career, and she never looked back. 

She is noted with receiving the most Oscar nominations of any actor, with a total of 20 nods. Streep was named Commander of the Order of Arts and Letters (the highest cultural accolade bestowed by the French government) in 2002, in addition to other acting awards.

In 2010, she was admitted into the American Academy of Arts and Letters as an honorary member. The next year, Streep was honored by the Kennedy Center. She received the Cecil B. DeMille Award in 2017. (a Golden Globe for lifetime achievement).

George W. Bush

He is a well-known politician who has served as a member of Congress, the United States Ambassador to the United Nations, the Director of Central Intelligence, and the 41st President of the United States. After serving in the Navy during WWII, Bush attended Yale University. He completed Yale in two and a half years, rather than the typical four.

He was the president of the Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity, the Yale baseball team captain, and a member of the Yale cheering squad at this time. He received his Bachelor of Science in Economics with a minor in Sociology in 1948.

Urjit Patel

Mr. Patel was the Reserve Bank of India’s 24th Governor, succeeding Raghuram Rajan. With degrees from major international universities, he has a distinguished academic record. He graduated from the London School of Economics with a bachelor’s degree in economics, then went on to Oxford for an M.Phil in economics, and lastly Yale University for a Ph.D.

After earning his Ph.D. in 1991, he was hired by the International Monetary Fund. Since then, he has held a variety of key roles in the Indian government, both at the national and state levels. During his tenure, the demonetization of the 500 and 1000 rupee notes was implemented, which was an important step toward combating corruption.

Though the discussion about the move’s success could last for years, no one can deny Urjit Patel’s outstanding work as a Deputy Governor under Raghuram Rajan to combat inflation in India. Patel is known as Rajan’s “inflation-warrior.”

Ben Silbermann
