With its highly appreciated departments offering courses in various facets and intersections of fashion and other diverse fields like communication, production, and management, it has grown on to become a creative hub of individuals from all over the country. NIFT Courses: Overview

Offered across 16 campuses across the length and breadth of India, NIFT courses cater to a wide variety of audiences. This includes the first campus in New Delhi in 1986 and subsequently developed campuses in Kolkata, Hyderabad, Gandhinagar, Bengaluru, out of which the newest one is in Jammu & Kashmir.

From foundation and bachelor’s programs to master’s and PhD, its students have regularly earned appreciation in various competitions, professional activities as well as research collaborations. The institute has also forged partnerships with global peers like Queensland University of Technology, Australia, Royal Academy of Arts, The Netherlands and Copenhagen School of Design and Technology, Denmark amongst others. Here is a brief overview of the offered NIFT courses at various levels.

Along with the above, NIFT also provides opportunities for PhD courses [full-time & part-time], foundation programs, continuing education for working professionals, dual degree courses along with various study abroad programs.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must meet the following criteria to pursue a NIFT course:

• To pursue an undergraduate course at NIFT, the candidate must have completed 10+2 from recognised board
• To pursue a masters course at NIFT, the candidate must have completed their bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
• The candidate must qualify the NIFT entrance exam and score the specified marks to study at NIFT

NIFT Courses: A Deeper Look

What differentiates NIFT courses from its counterparts is the emphasis placed on the development of a multidimensional understanding through a combination of theoretical teaching, practical application, and awareness towards recent developments in aim for a solid career in Fashion Designing.

Bachelor’s Level

At the undergraduate level, major divisions include the Bachelor of Design [B Des] and Bachelor of Fashion Technology courses [BFTech]. Further, the Bachelor of Design is offered in six major areas, namely, Accessory, Knitwear, Leather, Textile and Fashion Design along with Fashion Communication. Master’s Level

There are three specialized master’s courses on offer, namely, the Master of Design, Master of Fashion Technology and Master of Fashion Management.
