NIFT Courses: Overview

Offered across 16 campuses across the length and breadth of India, NIFT courses cater to a wide variety of audiences. This includes the first campus in New Delhi in 1986 and subsequently developed campuses in Kolkata, Hyderabad, Gandhinagar, Bengaluru, out of which the newest one is in Jammu & Kashmir. From foundation and bachelor’s programs to master’s and PhD, its students have regularly earned appreciation in various competitions, professional activities as well as research collaborations. The institute has also forged partnerships with global peers like Queensland University of Technology, Australia, Royal Academy of Arts, The Netherlands and Copenhagen School of Design and Technology, Denmark amongst others. Here is a brief overview of the offered NIFT courses at various levels.

Bachelor’s Level

At the undergraduate level, major divisions include the Bachelor of Design [B Des] and Bachelor of Fashion Technology courses [BFTech]. Further, the Bachelor of Design is offered in six major areas, namely, Accessory, Knitwear, Leather, Textile and Fashion Design along with Fashion Communication. Students can also take advantage of diverse specialization areas in all of the above-mentioned programs as tabulated below:

Master’s Level

There are three specialized master’s courses on offer, namely, the Master of Design, Master of Fashion Technology and Master of Fashion Management.
