Mannes School of Music was founded in 1916 by David Mannes, Clara Damrosch and Frank Damrosch. Mannes and Damrosch were the most important music families in America. Mannes School of Music has transformed the traditional music conservatory by integrating rigorous classical training with real-world experience and disciplinary learning. Mannes School of Music is a Private Music Conservatory which constitutes two academic divisions i.e., College and Preparatory. It offers music learning through Mannes Prep, Bachelor Program, Master Program, and ESL+Music programs.

Mannes Prep
Mannes Prep welcomes students aged from 4 to 18 (pre-K to high school), beginners to advanced students aspiring to pursue a professional career in music. A unique curriculum is tailored under the guidance of dedicated faculty so students can learn and grow in music according to their age and skill level.
Bachelors Program
Mannes School of Music offers a combined Bachelor in Music degree with an MA in Arts Management and Entrepreneurship and graduates with both degrees in five years.
Masters Program
Mannes School of Music master’s program enables students to develop abilities as a performer while gaining knowledge of and skill in business, leadership and entrepreneurship.
ESL+Music:
The ESL+ Music program helps students develop their English language skills before they begin their degree. Students can study music with a faculty member while improving English Language skills in order to qualify for degree programs.

- Applicants must submit the common application and a recorded video audition/portfolio.
- Application process goes through three main stages in both Fall Intake ( December) and Spring Intake (October).

Admission Process in detail step by step for Undergraduate-
- Common online application form filled by the applicant. The application fee for international students is $75 (INR 5850) . It is non-refundable. Music School waives the application fee in case of financial hardship of the student.
- After application submission students need to write two essays on different subjects with a word limit of 500-650 words.
- Applicants to the Composition, Piano, and Voice programs must submit a portfolio or prescreen materials. After review, passed portfolios or prescreen materials will be invited to submit any additional final recordings and/or schedule an admission video interview.
- After this students requires to submit a Letter of Recommendation. First-year applicants need to submit two LOR while Transfer students need to submit only one LOR.
- All applicants must provide official high school and/or college transcripts from all institutions attended. Undergraduate applicants who have attended multiple high schools can submit only the graduating school’s official transcript as long as all prior coursework is listed on that transcript.
- All admitted students are automatically considered for merit scholarship awards after the time of application submission by the strength of their applications. International students are eligible only for merit scholarships.
- The New School does not require submission of SAT or ACT scores.
- All applicants whose first language is not English must submit valid English language proficiency test results taken within the past two years. Minimum required scores are:

- Applicants are required to answer a given essay in prose from any one out of four topics in 200 to 500 words.
- Applicants to the Piano, Conducting, Composition, and Voice programs must submit a portfolio or prescreen materials, as detailed on our audition requirements page. After review, pass portfolios or prescreen materials will be invited to submit any additional final recordings and/or schedule an admission video interview.
- Two letters of recommendation from professional and/or academic references are required.
- Applicants must upload an unofficial transcript, mark sheet, or academic record for each institution. Non-English transcripts must be accompanied by an English translation.
- All applicants whose first language is not English must submit valid results of an English language proficiency test taken within the past two years.
