Hypatia (AD 360-415)

A revolutionary name back in the 4th century was that of Hypatia who was a brilliant scholar in Alexandria. Regarded as one of the famous mathematicians, she is prominently known for her edited version of the Greek mathematical text called Euclid’s The Elements.

Antiphon discovered the value of pi. He was the first person who calculated the upper bound and lower bound values of Pi by inscribing and circumscribing around a circle, the polygon, and processed finally to calculate the areas of the polygon.

Aryabhatta (476-550 CE)

P.C. Mahalanobis (1893-1972)
