This year has been unpredictable with the advent of the global pandemic shuffling our regular routines. While 2020 impacted almost every aspect of our lives, we adapted rapidly to the new normal from shifting our workplaces home to the educational sphere turning to online learning. Many universities around the world have taken several efforts to ensure that education does not suffer. To provide the right assistance to aspiring international students, universities across the globe took the much-needed steps to turn to online learning and even exempting standardised prep scores like GMAT, GRE, etc. European Universities are also ready to welcome Indian students for the Fall Intake 2021 and conducted the European Higher Education Virtual Fair India 2020 (EHEVF) online from 25th -27th November to bring universities and international students together.

Scholarships for Indian Students
Other than benefits at the level of the EU Member States, the European Union offers scholarships to Indian students allowing to receive a master’s degree by touring two or more Member States during the study period, which adds to the cultural diversity a student may achieve from studying in Europe.
During the webinar by European universities to welcome Indian students, M. Adrian Veale, Policy Officer, Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture, European Commission, Brussels, assured the students that although the current Erasmus+ scholarship programme is coming to an end in December 2020, the European Union will initiate a new scholarship programme for the next seven years and will continue to offer the popular Erasmus Mundus Scholarship programme in the coming months.
Dr. Surbhi Singh of the Centre for Migration of India, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Government of India, welcomed the opportunity to take part in the virtual fair to raise awareness of the opportunities for Indian students to travel globally and to Europe. The MEA has launched a Madad platform for Indian students preparing or studying abroad to assist students and also to answer their concerns about consular services provided by Indian missions. A checklist offering advice to Indian students to make the best-informed option has also been set up at EU level.
