IIT Madras

A public-funded university, it was established in 1959. IIT Madras was the third establishment under the Institutes of Technology Act (1961) of the Indian Government. Anna University

The University has been recognized by UGC, and accredited by NAAC grade ‘A’. The application process for all the courses offered at Anna University through the online mode only. SRM Institute of Science and Technology

The SRM Institute was founded in 1985. This is one of the engineering colleges in Chennai, a top-ranking deemed university and accredited by the NAAC with the highest ‘A++’ Grade.  It is also approved by UGC and held the following rankings:

  • 3rd  for Engineering – Times 2020
  • 8th  for Private Engineering – India Today 2020

SSNCE – Sri Sivasubramaniya Nadar College of Engineering

Last but not the least on our list of engineering colleges in Chennai, we have the Sri Sivasubramaniya Nadar College of Engineering. It was founded by Shiv Nadar, in the year 1996. It was affiliated with Anna University, however, was granted autonomy in 2018. It is a private college offering a total of 27 courses across 3 streams. Admission to this engineering college in Chennai is through a single-window counselling session. 35 per cent seats are reserved for management quota and 25 seats for the state toppers of Tamil Nadu. The merit list is prepared based on the marks obtained in the qualifying exam.
