Founded in 1724, Saint Petersburg State University is regarded as the premier university offering higher education in Russia and is ranked among the outstanding international universities of education, science, and culture. Infrastructure, Campuses and Courses
The university has two main campuses, Twelve Collegia on Vasilievsky Island and Peterhof, a southwestern suburb. The main campus of the university is on Vasilievsky Island and has the library, the Faculty of Biology and the Institute of Earth Sciences. The new suburban campus includes the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Control Processes, Institute of Chemistry, Faculty of Mathematics and Mechanics, and Faculty of Physics, which are in new buildings in Peterhof. Green Campus is the concept for creating a green and ecologically-friendly environment. Since its establishment, the university has been collecting, holding and creating cultural, scientific and historical objects. The university has its branches as Graduate School of Management, Institute of History, Faculty of Foreign Languages and many more. Accomplishments and Alumni
Scientists from St Petersburg State University, along with colleagues from 22 countries, found a way to minimise perioperative bleeding. Also, the museum collections have over 3 million objects in storage and are extensively used in research and education. This is displayed in university museums and in online exhibitions. Since 2021, the university has been a crucial member of the Union of Russian museums. St Petersburg State University experts will assist government agencies, companies and individuals in analysing the application of laws and other regulations. Moreover, more than 30 non-degree programmes will be launched at the university in May. The university joins hands with the Association of Law Universities of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation. Talking about alumni, the graduates of the university have become Nobel Prize laureates, ruled the country, led ministries and departments, and have gained names as Olympic champions, poets, and discoverers. Ivan Pavlov is a Nobel Prize winner in Physiology and Medicine, and Leonid Kantorovich won the Nobel Prize for Economics. Igor Sechin gained a name as an entrepreneur and Dmitry Medvedev was head of the country.

The university has 5 000+ international students from 117 countries. Also, it has 500+ organisations and partner universities. The teaching and research staff members are 4700+. There are 23 Research Park resource centres and 1600+ cooperation agreements and agreements on practical training of students with employer companies.
