Indiana University was founded in 1820 and established at its flagship campus at Bloomington which is two centuries old. There are a total of nine colleges operating under IU with the other core campus at Indianapolis offering degrees from two universities - Purdue University and Indiana University. Infrastructure, Campuses and Courses

Indiana University Bloomington is the flagship campus of the University's seven campuses and 2 statewide centers. The main campus along with the University's oldest and largest campus, IUPUI constitute two core campuses, in addition to which, Indiana has 5 Regional campuses, as well as 9 School of Medicine campuses. Each campus has a credited and official 4 years graduation granting authorization. While the University offers a wide range of programs it is best known for its Business and Music school. Some of the programs offered by the university include - Arts and Sciences, Education, Journalism and Nursing, Public Affairs, International Studies among the many more courses that the university offers. The University has also received teaching awards through the years for its distinguishing and excellent contributions to the university and the students alike. 5 subject areas taught at IU were ranked among the Top 5 globally, while 7 subjects ranked among the Top 10 as per US News and World University. Apart from academic excellence, the university also boasts of having over 1000 free musical performances on-campus ranging from contemporary to classic opera as well as ballet performances along with having a university orchestra and four museums and art galleries. According to the College Magazine, Indiana University was ranked #8 in LGBTQ+ Friendly College. Indiana has a vast, powerful alumni network of 7,50,000 graduates living and working globally. The alumni network consists of noteworthy names including, Jimmy Wales, co-founder of Wikipedia, Deepender Singh Hooda, a member of India's parliament, Michael Uslan, executive producer of the Batman films and Joshua Bell is a Grammy winner as a violinist to name a few.
