Situated in the central German city of Frankfurt, Goethe University is a public university which was founded in 1914 as Universität Frankfurt am Main. It was later elevated to the status of university in 1932. The university is governed by a strongly constitutionalized and comprehensive process that involves faculty, students and members of the administration. It has been ranked #311 by the World University Ranking- QS 2021.

Riedberg campus marks the home of the faculty of natural sciences and the Otto Stern whereas the Niederrad campus houses the university hospital and medical faculty.
