GOKDOM Scholarship 2024: Application Period

Launched in 1999-2000 by the Directorate of Backward Classes, GOKDOM’s sole aim is to lift the socio-economic status of minority groups. It’s responsible for the planning, coordination, evaluation, and implementation of the following key functions:

  1. Schemes to accelerate the socio-economic development of backward classes.
  2. Education schemes for students.
  3. Schemes for women and children.
  4. Suitable training and employment opportunities for students to tackle the issues related to economic backwardness.

Eligibility Criteria

One of the common eligibility criteria for the GOKDOM Scholarship is that the applicant must be domiciled in Karnataka. Apart from this, all the schemes under this scholarship have their separate set of eligibility criteria. They are as follows:

Incentive for SSLC & 2nd PUC Students, KarnatakaThe applicant must have scored more than 85% marks in their Class 10 or 12.
MPhil and PhD Fellowship Program for Minority StudentsThe applicant should be under 35 years of age.
Their annual family income of the family must not exceed INR 6 lakh.
Government/full-time employees are not eligible to apply.

  1. Create an account on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) by going to its official website and clicking on the “Create Account” button. 
  2. Provide your personal information, like your name, address, and email address. You will also need to create a password and select a security question.
  1. Once you have created an account, you will need to complete your profile by providing information about your education, family, and financial situation. 
  1. Upload scanned copies of your required documents, such as your Aadhaar card, income certificate, and caste certificate.
  1. Click on the “Apply” button next to the scholarship you are interested in and provide additional information about your eligibility for the scholarship.
  1. After completing your application, submit it. You will receive a confirmation email once your application has been submitted.
  1. You can check your application status by logging into your NSP account and clicking on the “My Applications” tab. 
  1. If your application is approved, you will receive the scholarship amount directly in your bank account.
