Given below is a list of the Google Scholarships for Indian students available in the year 2024. Students are advised to read the eligibility criteria and terms and conditions of each scholarship carefully before applying. Let’s get started:

Women Techmakers Scholars Program

Women Techmakers Scholar Program is an academic scholarship program that aims at promoting and awarding women based on the performance, impact, and leadership they show in the field of technology. This one of the famous Google Scholarships provides an opportunity for women from across the world to connect with Google mentors and fellow scholars and collaborate in diverse projects to make a continued impact on the world. Under this program, a group of undergraduate and graduate female students will be selected and a cash prize will be awarded to them based on the candidate’s technical skills, impact on diversity, academic excellence and leadership qualities. To be eligible for this, a candidate needs to fulfil the following conditions:

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The applicant must be a female pursuing a UG/PG degree.
  • The applicant must be enrolled in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other related technical courses. 
  • The applicant should have an exceptional academic record. 
  • Past recipients of any of the Google Scholarships are not eligible.

Venkat Panchapakesan Memorial Scholarship

For those who are passionate about studying computer science or engineering, the Venkat Panchapakesan Memorial Scholarship is one of those Google Scholarships which you can apply for. Named after a famous Engineer, this scholarship awards the selected candidates with the financial assistance of USD 750 which would cover the tuition fee as well as all the education-related expenditures apart from a visit to YouTube headquarters in the USA. Additionally, some selected students will also get an opportunity to submit a proposal and receive funding of up to USD 225.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Currently enrolled in a UG/PG program in a recognized college/university in India.
  • The candidate should be currently pursuing a degree in computer science, computer engineering or any such related course in the technical field. 
  • The applicant should also have an excellent academic record. 

Google Conference and Travel Scholarships

To help candidates belonging to underrepresented associations in the field of business and technology network with industries and develop connections, the technology company started with the Google Conference and Travel Scholarships. It is one of those unique Google Scholarships that encourage attendance at selected technical conferences all around the world. For India, the recipient can receive an award ranging from USD 1,000 – 3,000, which will cover registration fees, travelling, accommodation, and other related expenditures.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Enrolled in a recognized university in India that requires funds to travel to attend conferences.
  • The candidate must have a paper accepted(oral presentation/full publication) at the top-tier conference for Computer Science, in the area in which Google has a great interest. You can visit ai.google to get the full list of selected areas.
  • Additionally, the candidate should be the primary author of that accepted paper.
  • The candidate must have a paper accepted by the main conference for oral presentation.

Doodle 4 Google Contest

One of the popular Google Scholarships for those who want to build a career in Arts, the Doodle for Google contest is a program that aims to encourage creativity among school students and doodle their interpretation of the logo of Google. The winners of the contest are awarded a range of exciting prizes based on the categories of submission- National Winner, Group Winner, and National Finalist.

Note: Employees, contractors, interns, officials and representatives/affiliates CANNOT participate in this contest.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The applicant must be an Indian resident.
  • The applicant must be a student of Class 1 -10 in any recognized school in India.
  • The applicant must have permission from their parents/guardians/school teachers.

Google India Code to Learn Contest 

This is an achievement contest which you can apply directly from your school. Your computer teacher or parents can give your name for this contest. Winning students get prizes including a Chromebook Laptop or any equivalent gift. 

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Class 5 – 8 Students must prepare projects using Scratch or App Inventor- tools created by MIT. 
  • Class 9 – 10 students must create projects using Scratch, App Inventor, or Machine Learning projects using Google AutoML.
  • Students in Class 11 and 12 can create projects on Machine Learning using Google AutoML. Their project will not be accepted on Scratch or App Inventor.

Udacity- Google Developer Scholarship

The Google Developer Scholarship program was launched in partnership with Udacity. The scholarship is divided into two parts, i.e. 60,000 Challenge scholarships in which candidates can pursue any of the four Udacity programs [Intro to HTML + CSS, Offline Web Applications, Android Basics and Developing Android Apps] while the 1,000 Nanodegree Scholarships will provide students with Udacity’s Nanodegree programs.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The applicant must be 18 years old.
  • The applicant must be a citizen of India.

Generation Google Scholarship

This scholarship is for women students in science. It specifically caters to students in computer science or engineering. Selected students receive $1,000 for the academic year. The decision is made based on inclusion, diversity, knowledge, experience, demonstrated leadership and academic excellence. 

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be a female
  • Be a 1st or 2nd year student in bachelors in one of the following countries:
    • India
    • Taiwan
    • Southeast Asia: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam
  • Must be studying computer science or a relevant subject
  • Must have a great academic record
  • Must exemplify leadership qualities

To apply for this scholarship, you need to fill out an online application form. You must send responses to two essay questions mentioned below:

1) Please give us one example of how you have exhibited leadership. Explain what you were trying to achieve, your role, how you influenced others, and the impact as a result of your actions. Think broadly and examine the many ways you are affecting the members of the different communities you are a part of. Keep in mind, that the example you choose does not need to be a formal or traditional leadership role.


2) What is a significant challenge that you believe women in the tech industry face and how do you see yourself as being part of the solution(s) to this challenge? Keep in mind that impact can happen in many ways and at different scales.

You will also receive an invitation to a Google Online Challenge. If you pass these tests, you will receive a scholarship.
