 What are the Eligibility Criteria for a CGL exam?

Aspirants must meet certain prerequisites to be eligible. Some of the general criteria are – 

  • Educational Qualifications: Hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in a relevant field.
  • Age Limit: The age limit is between 18 to 32 years ( relaxations for reserved categories) depending on the positions.
  • Nationality: Must be an Indian Citizen.

What is the Exam Pattern of SSC CGL?

The CGL exam pattern comprises four tiers:

  • Tier IITier II is also a computer-based test that assesses candidates’ Quantitative Abilities and English Language ( Tier II is conducted only for those who qualify in Tier I).
  • Tier III – It is a written test that assesses candidates’ English language and Writing skills. (Tier III is conducted only for those who qualify in Ter I and Tier II)
  • Tier IV – Tier IV is a computer-based test that assesses the knowledge of Computer Proficiency. ( This exam is conducted only after the aspirant qualifies in all the above three stages.)
