The full form of BPSC is the Bihar Public Service Commission. The BPSC conducts numerous recruitment examinations such as the Bihar State Civil Services Combined Competitive Examination to fill vacancies in the Bihar state administration. This exam recruits candidates for gazetted posts including Jailer, Block Development Officer (BDO), and Deputy Superintendent of Police.

The BPSC eligibility criteria include different factors such as:

  • Educational Qualification

General BPSC Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates must have completed their graduation.
  • The minimum age limit for general candidates is 20 years.
  • The upper age limit for appearing general candidates is 37 years. 
  • The age limit for female general candidates is 40 years. 
  • The upper age limit for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) is 10 years. 
  • There are no restrictions on the number of attempts for BPSC as long as the candidate fulfills the criteria.
  • For government employees who have been in continuous service for at least three years, the number of attempts is 3 whereas the relaxation in the upper age limit is 5 years.
