Good morning respected Principal, teachers, and my dear friends,

Today, I feel happy to speak a few words on the topic “Tourism in India.” India is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. It is full of history, culture, nature, and festivals. Tourism in India is not just about visiting places. It is a journey to learn about different people, their food, clothes, languages, and traditions.

India has many kinds of tourist places. We have historical tourism like the Taj Mahal in Agra, Qutub Minar in Delhi, and Hampi in Karnataka. People from different countries come to see these famous monuments. Then we have religious tourism. Many people visit temples like Kedarnath, Tirupati, Vaishno Devi, and Golden Temple in Amritsar. These places give peace to the mind and soul.

India is also rich in natural beauty. We have the snowy mountains of Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh, the deserts of Rajasthan, the forests of Madhya Pradesh, and the beaches of Goa and Kerala. These places attract nature lovers and adventure seekers. Eco-tourism is also growing in India. People now visit wildlife parks like Jim Corbett, Kaziranga, and Sundarbans to enjoy nature and learn about animals.

Tourism is very important for our country. It creates jobs in hotels, restaurants, transport, and shopping. It helps local people earn money and improves the economy. In 2024, India earned over ₹2.5 lakh crore from tourism. States like Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, and Uttar Pradesh get a big part of their income from tourists.

To make tourism better, the Government started the “Incredible India” and “Dekho Apna Desh” campaigns. These promote tourism within India and abroad. Cleanliness, safety, and better roads have made travel easier.

Friends, as students, we should respect tourists and our heritage sites. Never throw waste at tourist spots. Let us keep India clean and friendly for all.

Thank you and have a great day!

Long Speech on Tourism in India

Good morning respected teachers and dear friends,

I am here to speak on a very interesting topic – Tourism in India. Tourism means travelling to different places for fun, learning, or relaxation. India is one of the top tourist countries in the world because of its beauty, culture, and variety. People from all over the world visit India to explore its history, nature, festivals, and food.

India is called a land of diversity. Every state in India has something special for tourists. In the north, there are snow-covered mountains in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. Many tourists go for trekking, skiing, and mountain climbing. In the west, Rajasthan is famous for forts, palaces, and camel rides in the desert. In the east, West Bengal and Odisha have temples and forests. And in the south, states like Kerala and Tamil Nadu have beaches, backwaters, and temples that attract both Indian and foreign tourists.

India has many types of tourism. There is heritage tourism for people who want to see ancient buildings like the Red Fort, India Gate, Sanchi Stupa, and Ajanta-Ellora caves. Then there is religious tourism. Pilgrims visit places like Varanasi, Bodh Gaya, Rameswaram, Somnath, and Ajmer Sharif. Every religion has famous places in India. Medical tourism is also becoming popular. People from other countries come here for affordable and good treatment in cities like Delhi, Mumbai, and Chennai.

Tourism gives many benefits to our country. It creates many jobs in travel companies, hotels, shops, and restaurants. It also helps local people earn money by selling handicrafts, food, and offering services. In 2024, India welcomed more than 9 crore domestic and international tourists. According to the Ministry of Tourism, this industry supports over 4 crore jobs across the country.

To support tourism, the Indian Government has started many programs. Swadesh Darshan Scheme helps in building tourist circuits like Buddhist Circuit, Coastal Circuit, and Desert Circuit. Incredible India is a campaign to attract international tourists. Dekho Apna Desh encourages Indians to travel within the country and explore new places.

Tourism also teaches us about our own culture and history. By visiting different states, we learn new languages, try new food, and understand different lifestyles. It builds respect for all regions and brings unity among us.

But we must remember to travel responsibly. Many tourist places suffer because people throw garbage, damage walls, or harm nature. We must follow rules, protect nature, and treat monuments with care. As students, we should also spread awareness about clean and safe tourism.

In conclusion, tourism in India is full of wonders. It brings happiness, jobs, and unity. Let us explore our country, respect our heritage, and become proud travellers.

Thank you so much!
