Important Dates & Deadlines

The NIMCET registration and application process begins generally in March extending towards the end of the month. The date of the exam typically hovers around late May. NIMCET: Eligibility

In order to appear for the NIMCET and to gain admission into the NITs, a prospective applicant needs to fulfil certain minimum eligibility conditions. Go through the following table to understand the NIMCET eligibility in detail:

Note:

  1. For universities where the ten-point CGPA scale is not used, scores will be converted through the unitary method.
  2. Total marks must include all language, optional courses taken during the duration of the programs.

NIMCET: Test Structure and Pattern

Comprising of a total of 120 multiple choice questions, the two-hour NIMCET exam is conducted completely in English and is not offered in any other medium. A detailed explanation of the structure of the test, NIMCET syllabus, and total marks has been elaborated in the following table:

  1. Each correct answer carries 4 marks.
  2. Negative marking of 1 mark per every incorrect answer.
