Common Law Admission Test (CLAT)
The CLAT is a national-level exam conducted at over 20 national universities and more than 50 private colleges for students who wish to pursue law. The exam goes on for 2 hours and is conducted annually. The exam is taken by more than 50,000 students all over India. Important changes that have been made for CLAT 2022 are:
- The exam will be conducted as a computer-based test in selected and limited centres.
- The total questions for UG: 120, and PG: 102.
- One must have received a minimum of 45 percent in their 10+2 exams. For candidates who fall into one of the reserved groups, there will be a 5% reduction in the minimum score.
- The test is open to everyone of any age.
Law School Admission Test (LSAT) India
LSAT is an international level exam for the students wanting to acquire admission under law courses offered by the prestigious law schools in the country. The exam is conducted quarterly by the Pearson VUE on behalf of the Law School Admission Council (LSAC). This test is organized separately for LLB and LLM courses. The mode of the exam remains to be offline and tests students on several parameters like logical reasoning, analytical reasoning, and reading comprehension.
The test goes on for a duration of 2 h 20 mins and will commence from April 26 to 30, 2022. The LSAT score is accepted in over 200 colleges globally including countries like India, the United States, Canada, Australia, etc.

All India Law Entrance Test (AILET)
Being one of the most prominent law entrance exams, AILET is a national level examination conducted for the students applying for varied law degrees such as BBA LLB, LLM, PhD, etc. It is an offline exam that is conducted by the National Law University, Delhi once every year. It aims to test the law aspirants on several parameters set into 5 sections like basic mathematics, logical reasoning, legal aptitude, etc.
IPU CET Law
Organized by the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprasth University, IPU CET is the national entry-level examination. The university offers admissions under 5 courses like BA LLB, BBA LLB, etc. This is a pen-paper test and through this exam, candidates can get admissions under any one of the 8 colleges affiliated with the university. There will be objective-type questions in the exam testing students about reasoning, legal aptitude, general knowledge, and English language & comprehension.
AIBE (All India Bar Exam)
The All India Bar Examination (AIBE) is not held for the purpose of admission to law schools; rather, it is used to assess an advocate’s eligibility to practice law in India. The AIBE assesses a candidate’s analytical talents as well as their mastery of basic legal concepts. After passing the examination candidate will be awarded a” Certificate of Practice ” by the Bar Council of India.
Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (MH CET)
The MHCET Law is a state-level exam conducted by the Directorate of Higher Education, Maharashtra. The test boards shortlist various applicants for a 5-year law course and a 3-year law course in more than 120 colleges. The test is conducted annually and goes on for 2 hours. The exam will be conducted in the second week of March.
Banaras Hindu University (BHU UET)
The BHU UET is a university-level exam held annually. The test goes on for 2 hours and is conducted in both ways- the computer-based test and paper-based test. The test is said to be held in April 2022 for many undergraduate courses including law.
UPES Law Studies Aptitude Test (ULSAT)
The ULSAT is a university-level test conducted by UPES, Dehradun. The test is conducted through offline and online modes and is accepted in 2 colleges. This year, the application deadline for ULSAT is April 2022 and the exams shall be held in Mid- March 2022.
Christ University Bangalore
The Christ University Law Entrance Exam (CULEE) is a university-level entrance exam held annually. Students who wish to study law at christ university can enroll for this exam with the deadline for the application being May 31, 2022. The exam will be held in April and will be a paper-based test in centers located in Bengaluru, Delhi, and Kolkata.
