The University of Delhi is regarded as one of the most coveted universities across the country. It cannot be denied that seeking higher education from DU is a dream of many, regardless of the stream they pursue in class 12th. DU Admissions 2020 have officially kickstarted on 12th October 2020 as the application portal has been activated from 10 am onwards on Monday for all the undergraduate courses.
For this year, the entire application process has been shifted to online due to the current situation of a pandemic. As the first cutoff has been released on 12th October 2020, the candidates can only apply till Wednesday, i.e. 14th October 2020 by 5 p.m. The official authorities of the university have mentioned that the entire application would be completed online and students are requested not to be present at the university office.
Shobha Bagai, the Dean of Admissions, Delhi University, has mentioned that all the universities will tackle and resolve all the queries of the students related to DU admissions 2020 online as safety has been put as the utmost priority in the present pandemic scenario. In the same view, many colleges have directed their staff to work from home during the entire admission process.
How to Apply for DU Online Admissions 2020?
The candidates aspiring to study at thr Delhi University will first have to log in to the official website of the university, i.e. www.du.ac.in and register themselves after which they will be allotted a user ID and password. After entering their 12th class marks, a list of courses that you can apply for along with colleges will be displayed. Candidates are free to choose as many courses and colleges as they want.
Once the candidates have successfully submitted their application, the admission authorities of the chosen colleges come into the picture then. The colleges will now shortlist the applications depending upon the cut-off list as well as verify academic requirements like minimum qualification eligibility as well as other documents submitted. After conducting the due background check, then the college will approve of the admission and then the candidates will be asked to submit the fee to complete the application process of DU admissions.
The authorities have mentioned that the second cutoff list will be announced by October 19th and the session is estimated to begin from 18th November 2020. Now that you are aware of the simple steps that you have to follow, here is a list of documents required for DU Online Admissions 2020:

DU Updates & Cutoff Lists
The University of Delhi has recently launched the second cut off list for the students aspiring to Tu to make their way through colleges of DU. Even being called as the second cut off list, the dropdown in the scores is just namesake. The admissions under the second cut off list will take place between Monday, 19th October 2020 To Wednesday, 21st October 2020. Along with allowing students to take admissions, the option of taking transfer within the university is also open.

Considering the cutting edge competition of the DU admissions 2020, many colleges have not even released their second cut off list for the prominent courses. For the academic year 2020 and 2021, courses in Psychology, Political Science and Economics have outshined has the most popular choices. Around 35 thousand seats of about 70,000 available seats in DU have been filled in the first list only. For the leftover seats, at least five cut-off lists are expected to be released.
With around 50% of the seats filling up in the first cut off list, let us quickly through some specific courses to which some colleges have stopped the entries.
- BA Hons English: Atma Ram Sanatan Dharm College, Kalindi College, Kamla Nehru College, Deen Dayal Upadhyay College, Hindu College, Shyama Prasad Mukherjee College, Sri Aurobindo College and IP College for women.
- BA Hons Economics: Daulat Ram College, Delhi College of Arts and Commerce, Deshbandhu College, B R Ambedkar College, Gargi College, Maitri College, PGDAV College, Kamla Nehru College and Shivaji College.
- BA Hons History: Bharati College, BR Ambedkar College, IP College for Women, Delhi College of Arts and Commerce, Hindu College, Hansraj College, Kirori Mal College, Maitri College, Lakshmibai College, Rajdhani College and Motilal Nehru College.
Third Cut-Off List
Concluding the admissions in the first two lists, Delhi University has announced its third list for admissions on 26th October 2020. Admissions in Arts, Commerce and Science courses are currently going on right now for the third list as the last date to do so is 28th October 2020. With almost 80% of the seats being filled up, the chances of securing admission in the course of your choice in the University of Delhi are now getting critical. Amongst all the three lists, it is recorded that the third one has received the highest number of applications. “A total of 4,872 candidates applied on the first day of admission under the 3rd cut off list. A total of 2,410 admissions were approved on Monday”, stated by a senior university official, as per PTI reports.
