British Columbia College of Management to set up skill institute in Delhi NCR

British Columbia College of Management is to set up its first institute in Delhi NCR at Knowledge Park in Greater Noida. The main focus is to enter the hospitality skill education sector. The institute set up by the British Columbia College of Management in India will run online certification courses, and short-term certificate courses finishing courses for final-year students in the 2022-23 academic year.

This new venture of the institute is aligned with the New Education Policy of the government that will offer flexibility to the students to exit the course at different levels. The institute also promises an option where the students can opt to study in Canada in their second or third year to get an advanced diploma or a degree certification from a Canadian university. Upon completion, the students will be eligible to apply for the three-year work permit that comes along with the opportunity to get a Permanent Residency (PR).

The institution guarantees 100% placement in both India and Canada and offers scholarships to financially unstable students. The institute also assures to guide the students in admission as well as collateral-free loan programs that are offered by HDFC & L&T Finance.

With a vision to bring revolution to the hospitality sector in the country, this initiative is taken by Mr Deepak Jha, a Delhi-based sociopreneur, who has a wonderful track record of operating Chaitanya Group of Institutions since 2015. Mr Jha with this venture is offering a holistic learning and development environment.

Courses offered at BCCM are Bachelor in Hospitality Management and Hotel Administration, Advance Diploma in Hotel Management, Diploma in Hotel Management, and one-year courses in Culinary and Kitchen Operations, Food and Beverage Management, and Housekeeping Operations.

Currently, admissions are open for the academic year 2022-23 to the institute in various disciplines of administration, accommodation operations, food production, food and beverage management, front office, marketing and accounts.

Last week India signed a “landmark” MoU with UK to recognise eacthothers higher educational qualifications which os likely to increase the ease of the access and appeal of British education for Indian students.

Previously in mid July, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras together with the University of Birmingham offered joint-degree programmes that will offer 2-year master’s in Energy Systems, Data Science, and Biomedical Engineering.
